Levi Hoffmeier's work can be seen in the new Halo Encyclopedia out from Dark Horse, as well as Halo: Evolutions from Tor, the Shadowrun RPG series, and in a number of comics, books, children's literature, marketing campaigns, and more. He also has designed and illustrated in-house for the Kansas City Public Library and Cinder Block Brewery.
In 2020 and 2021, Levi handled the art for Kansas City's Summer Reading campaigns, helping to pioneer outreach for youth literacy amidst the pandemic. For the new Kansas City International Airport that opened in 2023, Levi worked with Turn the Page KC, an early-childhood literacy non-for-profit, to create a children's book that showcased the city to both airport visitors and locals alike, as well as highlighted positive careers for underprivileged youth.
Under the moniker Leviathan, Levi's early webcomic, Halo: Fistful of Arrows, made an impact on the Halo fan community by filling in the gaps of the story of Halo: Reach, to the point where even Microsoft has hinted at its canonicity. Years later, videos detailing its story still garner upward of a million views on YouTube. He went on to create an ongoing science-fiction graphic novel entitled Mayflower, which he promoted at conventions and shows across the U.S. His latest work, the manga-inspired ReMaster Work, was successfully funded in 2023 via Kickstarter.
When not art-ing, Levi is likely sunbathing with The Clash blaring in his ears, still trying to figure out what happened in that last season of Twin Peaks...
